Ingestre Remembered
Following on from a project between Ingestre Arts and Windsor Park Middle School about World War I and its impact on the local area, a permanent
memorial has now been installed as a reminder of the project and was a perfect focus for the school’s Remembrance Assembly on Friday afternoon.
Produced by our Visual Arts tutor, Heather, the mosaic is nearly a metre and a half wide, and depicts the silhouette of Ingestre Hall and three
stylised poppies.
The second part of the installation is due to happen be completed in December, where further silhouettes will be painted around the mosaic and the
commemorative lettering added to the mosaic.
Staff and children at the school were thrilled when they saw it erected on Friday, just in time for their assembly and two minutes’ silence when
everyone turned to face the mosaic to provide a focus for their thoughts. Head teacher, Lisa Wilbraham-Jones, was very excited to see it for the
first time and reveal it to the children.
