"Creative learning at its best"

With the start of the new academic year upon us, barely had September taken a breath than we were springing back into action with a short 2 night visit from Lodge Primary School, who came to explore a school-wide learning objective of ‘Dreaming Big’ and maximising their aspirations.
46 children and their accompanying Staff arrived with their heads full of ideas on Wednesday morning, ready to create and learn with our dedicated team of artists in the areas of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Art. No sooner were beds made, coats and shoes stashed in cloakrooms and tours over and done with, than we were straight into workshops and busy creating some fantastic stuff after a quick re-fuel with a scrumptious lunch of Lasagne and garlic bread.
In a short visit to Ingestre, it is still possible to inject inspiration and creativity, and we started to work with exploring their theme, with Freeze Frames in Drama, Motifs in Dance and a story in Music, and the beginnings of some intricate print-work in Art. Working hard over the following workshops, the students pulled off some impressive performances and an exhibition which we are sure will take pride of place back at school.
A huge thank you, to the Staff for their supportive roles last week and to the children for bringing their new term energy and using it so well. It certainly started our term off with a standard to keep to. Happy New School Year, everyone…only 15 Fridays till Christmas!
