"Creative learning at its best"

The Christmas Spirit has really been in out full force here at Ingestre, for our last week of term and our last residential visit of the year from the children and staff of Gilbertstone Primary School.
Christmas Dinner rounded off a fantastic week with excellent work produced in all of our art forms, with outstanding development in confidence shown from all the children. Two brilliant, Christmas songs were written and produced in Music, with Johnny P and Ollie, which will be going round in our heads like an earworm, they were so catchy! Making its way back to school from the Art Studio is an enormous piece of Big Art, Christmas cards, wood slice tree decorations and beautiful wintery landscapes using lots of different artistic skills and new techniques, with Heather, in Art. Tara and the Dance students gave us a treat with a dance interpreting the story of The Grinch and the Drama students worked with Richard, to save Christmas by spreading Christmas spirit, when Christmas was cancelled, in their unique piece of theatre.
Children in each artform now has amazing pieces of work to share with their friends and family back at school, spreading the creativity and being proud of their achievements.
On reflection, this term has passed by in the blink of an eye; we’ve had new members of staff, husky visits, new schools, old schools, weekend courses, workshops in schools, parent visits and THREE CHRISTMAS DINNERS! It’s been an awesome term, busy and hectic from time to time, but that’s what makes the rich tapestry of life working here, at Ingestre Arts.
