The Coppice Primary Ingestre Hall 2019
The Easter holidays have finally arrived. This gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect on the brilliant week we had prior to breaking up. It was the turn of ‘The Coppice Primary’ to venture to Ingestre Hall for their very first arts residential. As you can imagine there were a lot of pre-arrival nerves from both parties with many children leaving home for the first time. With this in mind the results of the 2-day residential are mind blowing.
Once the group had finished their tours they took to workshops in Drama, Dance, Film, Music and Art, all following the same theme of Ancient Greece. Focusing on such a vibrant topic offered a lot of creative intuition to be sparked. In Drama the children produced a captivating performance following the story of Orpheus on his quest to the underworld. In Dance we saw a stunning piece that the group had choreographed, exploring the story of Theseus’s adventure into the Labyrinth. In Music we had 2 fully produced tracks and performances that got the whole school singing along. In Film we had some budding directors who recreated the siege of Troy with comic effect. And finally in Art there was a whole host of works that were created bringing ancient pantheons and mazes back to life.
In just 2 says the children crated an unbelievable amount of work to a very high standard. The week was capped of with a classic Ingestre disco, which gave the children and the staff a chance to let their hair down and wind down for the Easter holidays.
We thoroughly enjoyed having Coppice Primary to stay and cannot wait for them to visit us again in the future!
